(1) The leaves have a thin fawn to gray indumentum on the underside and are not shiny on the upper surface.(2) An excellent compact plant with pale green leaves felted with brown indumentum on the reverse.(3) New foliage covered with indumentum which remains on the undersides of the leafs.(4) An indumentum was noted in the inflorescence region or in the upper part of the stem.(5) Morphological characters including the glandular indumentum and cream flower colour suggest that A. ambiguum is close to A. graniticum.(6) Capitulum bracts are spiny and coated with a dense white arachnoidal indumentum .
